The Promises can’t be out run…

Last month I flew to Denver for a company conference.  On the way back I was sitting in the window seat, I always like to sit there if possible, just looking out at the sky and the ground which was 41,000 feet below.  As I was looking out I noticed a rainbow beside the plane.  I just kept watching it thinking surely at 500 miles per hour it wouldn’t last long but it just kept going and going.  I was reminded that when God flooded the earth and let Noah out of the Ark that he gave the sign of the rainbow as His promise that He would never again destroy the earth in that manner (Genesis 9:12-16).  It’s interesting that in this passage the sign of the rainbow is not only for us but for God as well to remember the covenant.

It was a reminder to me that God’s promises can never be out run.  They will keep going and going now matter how fast or how high you are or how you try to get away from them.  He is always there, keeping His promise to us.  He is faithful and good that way.  He can be trusted when no one else can.  He is able to be God and care for us in such a way that He shows Himself to us in the smallest ways.  His promises can never be out run.
